Is that a photo of a floating market? I thought this article is about a luxurious department.
Yep, you’re not mistaken.
That’s indeed the inside of the department store – one which costed over $1.6 billion to build.
Just when you thought the country couldn’t build any more shopping center, this happened. Bangkok’s Iconsiam is a 750,000 square meter riverside complex featuring retails, restaurant and residential spaces.
In my opinion, Bangkok already has countless shopping malls like Emquartier, Emporium, Siam Paragon and many more – all of which are not exactly plain. But Iconsiam really took it to the next level by replicating the traditional “Thai night market and floating market” atmosphere in its underground architectural design.
A perfect balance between authenticity and comfort. Because let’s be honest, the downside of a night market or any market in Thailand is the heat.
